4 Ways Heaven Is Different from Earth

What are four ways that heaven will be different from Earth?

1. The End of Pain, Suffering, and Death

What could be greater in the kingdom, when compared to Earth, than the permanent end of all suffering, sorrow, pain, and death? That is the promise of God from His Word where He says, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4). When we look at this world, that’s all we see! We’ve become used to it, if that’s possible. But that will be history when the Son of God appears and the kingdom comes down from heaven as the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:2). 2. No More Sin

The old church hymn “There Is a Fountain Filled With Blood” has a great line in the fourth verse, where it says “and saved to sin no more.” Don’t you get sick and tired of being sick and tired of sin? I hate it so much and am so eager to see the day when sin shall be no more, which is a huge difference between heaven and Earth today. Today, lots of sin. In the kingdom, “sin shall be no more,” just as Jeremiah writes, “And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more” (Jeremiah 31:34).

3. New Bodies

The older I get, the more eager I become for a new body. My earthly body, which is wasting away right now, will be renewed and sustained to never die again at His appearance or at my death. There won’t be anymore age lines (laugh lines or whatever you call them). The cosmetic and makeup industry will be gone, the plastic surgeons will have to find something else to do, and the “senior discounts” will all disappear. But having a new body that will never die is something that’s greatly different between heaven and Earth. 4. Eternal Structures

When the New Jerusalem comes down from heaven, there will be no need for a maintenance worker. Everything in the kingdom that comes down from heaven will never wear out, fade away, or deteriorate. Today we can look back less than a century ago and see structures that are wasting away and returning to the earth as dust. The difference is that everything in this world is passing away. But Jesus and His Words will never pass away (Matthew 24:35), and neither will His kingdom. The things of the earth will be gone someday, but those things in the kingdom will always remain.

GOD BLESS YOU!
